I figured I might as well write about what I've been up to in the past few days.

We flew to Auckland, but when found out that our flight to Los Angeles had been delayed due to a mechanical problem. An Air New Zealand employee rebooked our flight from LA to New York because we would have missed our original flight. After waiting around for an extra 3 an a half hours, we finally took off. We rushed through immigration in LA to get to our net flight on time, but Virgin America didn't accept the rebooking. Instead, we waited at LAX for a good 6 hours and then another hour when everyone had boarded the plane due to more technical difficulties. One thing I noticed about airport bookstores: no matter what country they are in, Fifty Shades of Grey will be part of the main display. When we finally got to New York around 6am, we had to wait even longer as there would be no one there to let us into the apartment we rented.

The rest of the day was not particularly exciting. We met some of my parents' Serbian friends and had dinner with them at Rockefeller University. All Serbians seem to be obsessed with Novak Djokovic. Their mental well-being depends on his recent tennis success (or lack of it).

They still do.

On Monday, dad and I went shopping. There are so many stores that it's just nuts. Not only are there so many, but the stores on 5th avenue are huge. The Uniqlo store that they had must have been the largest clothing store I've ever been in. I also went to Nintendo World!

It actually played tetris!

It was a pretty neat store. The bottom floor was nearly entirely Pokemon, and most of it was 5th gen stuff. The second floor had Mario, Zelda and some other Nintendo franchises. They had a big display with lots of Zelda stuff, and I think all the Nintendo consoles of the past. Both had people playing games.

After an intense day of shopping, we went out to dinner with different Serbian friends.

On Tuesday (today), Dad and I did more shopping. Exciting stuff.

Typical shoes of New Yorkers

We then went on a hunt for the Crocs store. Dad was not happy with the 'long' (15 minutes) amount of walking we had to do after taking the bus.

Feel free to litter between 3am and midnight!

This was only part of the second floor.
I don't care what anyone else thinks. Crocs are comfy and convenient as hell for the beach and those kinds of places.

My mom's older supervisors treated us to dinner. The restaurant was the fanciest place I had ever eaten at. I went in sneans. Whoops?

I hope everything is going well back in Palmy. I miss sleeping without the horrendous sound of traffic.
