The Flight - Sunday/Monday

So this will have info about my flight(s).
The flight to Auckland had turbulence and such. It was okay. My dad met one of his collegues who was on the flight.
We got there and I was texting Steph while waiting for Ana's flight to arrive. It was supposed to come at 5:50pm, but it arrive around 6:20pm. You could say we were almost late to our next flight (7:15pm). There was a free internet access point there, but I didn't find it until too late. We walked around the airport in what seemed to be a spiral. Our bags got x-rayed.We boarded, and so began our long flight.
We spent about 20 minutes sitting in the plane being briefed about safety and such. It seems that people in business premier got "ottomans", which are fancy footstools. We were not fortunate enough to get those as we were in economy.
The flight was about two and half hours long. There were screens at the back of the seats which played music, movies, had games, and also an "airshow". From the airshow, I found out that our distance we traveled was 10559km. The outside temperature while in the air varied from 45C to 58C. The highest altitude we got to was 11887m. Fastest ground speed was 933km/h.
Airline food is surprisinly filling! Ana ate a lot. Dad couldn't eat his "low-lactose meal" as he can't eat.. lots of things. Anyway, Ana ate most of it AND her meal. I could barely eat half of mine. I was just TOO FULL!
The plane was hot (I could sit around in a t-shirt), but the crew made it cooler. Sadly, the seat was still hot from being SAT ON for ELEVEN HOURS so I couldn't sleep for more than an hour. It was a combination of that and it being quite uncomfortable.
We FINALLY arrived in the past and got our finger prints taken. Our suitcases went through the x-ray machine and then we chilled out in the Los Angeles airport. That airport is huge . We had to take a bus to the next terminal (filled with rubbish amoungst the seats in the waiting area), and to get our stuff x-rayed again. Shoes too! Anyway, three hours later, we got on the plane. I read "The Last Watch" and marvelled at how it was the afternoon in NZ. We arrived at 11:45pm and went to the building.

Monday post coming soon...
